^No its in the games too, the first Aster isn't mentioned directly its true, but she's heavily alluded to by Zinnia and the elder, before AND after the credits.

parent-kid relationship can also be happen with human and pokemon. probably zinnia take care of aster right after it born and make it as her "child". that'll explain why aster call her "mum"
