It wasn't a neck tie. It was a part of the traditional garb of the Egyptian "god" Anubis. There was a reason for its existence.

No need to put quotes, real Anubis was indeed a god.

As for Perser's comment, i can see how its design in monster girl Anubis can be mistaken for a necktie, but keep in mine that this attire is entirely in gold, which is a metal. Have you seen many neckties made in metal plates ? ;)
