A furry is an illustrated personification of a creature, usually non-fabricated (dog, cat, fish, lizard, etc), that make the creature human-like in apperance and behavior, it also includes the animalization of human characters which make them appear and behave more animal-like. Furries also include the sexualization of fabricated inhuman creatures (monsters who's orginal apperance lack human features all together, a.e most pokemon). In short a being, whether human or animal, real or fabrication whose orginal apperance was ALTERED into something HUMAN-LIKE with definitive animal qualities is a furry.
A monster_girl, per definition here, Is part human female + part monster (a monster being any creature man has ever feared, be it living, fabricated or otherwise) and are always a fabrication, with a few unfortunate exceptions ( those born with extrodinary mutations and deformities all were called monsters for a time, a.e the cyclops). So a being that has a monstrous body, but with multiple "DEFINITIVE HUMAN" female parts. Unlike appendages that are human-like these body parts are definitely human (skin, arms, legs, torso, head and/or face) or vice-versa. meaning unlike a furry with a human like apperance, a monster girl IS part human
word for word: 1*"Weaponsmith_ornifex" is a 2* "harpy". A character with both features of a bird and a girl, and a "harpy is one of the commonly known 3*"monster_girls". A monster girl being half female human and half monster. but because of her head ,an actual bird's head (an important factor per the reference picture) and face, not an animalistic face (animal-like which implies non-human face but still kinda human-like), so per the refrence picture she would be more of a 4*monster" than either furry or monster_girl .
but any "monster" that is female is automatically labled a "monster_girl" on this site so.... yeah
thats how i see it

^you're not even trying are you? I guess I didn't explain it well enough. please have a look at the reference image on the link below. The only thing on her thats appears human are her ass and legs (she has the feet of a bird too). No other characteristics about her (in this image or from the game itself) are human so, as much as I hate saying it, the truth of the matter is Ornifex is Type D, a monster.

this link is suppose to be the primary reference for identifying Monster girls but, I doubt it's been used that often

An argument from 5 years ago? Sure, I'll weigh in.
Given the reference image I will concur with her being a monster- she does not have a human face AND she isn't animalistic (like a furry). She is a mix of a human and a crow- she is not a humanized crow, she's not a crow girl, she's not a crow anthro (like a kenku) that maintains digits and general human shape. She's a monster. A sexy monster.
