I haven't played it, but I know the story and wish it had ended like that instead of (Spoiler).

I think it's because at this point after cia's rescue they would be technically sisters as each half is basically their own person no longer two halves of whole plus they never suffered the cliche empty feeling that normally comes with the trope of a person being split between a light and dark half not to mention the two halves never eventually reconcile and eventually be forced together.
