Well based on the leaked supports, she's either a reincarnation or a past-life of Tharja, and the same might be true for Grey as Gaius and Matoi as Cordelia as well.

And at least this time around, they gave a concrete explanation as to why she starts following the Avatar/Kamui/Corrin around.

It's not just implied she's Tharja, I think some places imply Corrin could also be Robin. Which in my case, almost makes it seem they were meant to be.

I do agree about the explanation being better. Unlike Tharja who just wants you, apparently Corrin saves Shara from falling off a cliff, and she's smitten with them.

I can only imagine the fanfiction that will come about explaining why she's fallen in love with the same person in multiple lives and worlds. The thing about her confession is that it can be interpreted as either the time she met Corrin as a child OR when she met Robin in her past life.

I've read the female S-Rank and she actually acts afraid because being girls might impact how the Avatar see's her, and open her to scrutiny.

I think the same sex options were handled pretty realistically.
