Probably the numerous other indicators that something is female or male.

Her body fat distribution, hips etc. all look female.

From what I've read, newhalf is a tag that is only used when there is proof that the woman doesn't have a vagina. If she has a penis, then futanari is assumed, and it follows full-packaged futa is assumed if she also has balls. Context also helps, such as if the character is canonically a newhalf, then that would be assumed instead.

Futanari depicted with vagina, penis, and testicles -- the "full package", so to speak.

This tag denotes all three factors being either visible or contextually evident (such as bulges or pussy juice) in each, self-contained image.


Similar to futanari, but possessing no female genitalia. That is to say, the character has a female body but male genitals.

Also known in the West as "shemale"(シーメール)

Sorry, should have split those up. The sentence starting with 'futanari' is for full package futanari and the sentence starting with 'similar to' is for newhalf.
