I'm really tired of the whole "Gardevoir lusts for her trainer and he's oblivious/not interested" shtick. Especially because these are all made by guys who'd drag their dick through broken glass just for the privilege of eating the peanuts out of a Gardevoir's shit. You never, ever see a comic where the trainer wants to bone his beautiful Gardevoir and she wants nothing to do with him. It's so self-centered. What's with this trend of wanting to be the oblivious object of affections...?

"What's with this trend of wanting to be the oblivious object of affections...?"
There isn't one, the 'trend' is wanting to be the object of affections, the appeal of which is obvious. The 'oblivious/not interested' part comes in because it lets the author set up jokes.
