There was a lot of fan speculation about being able to bring Aerith back in the original. I hope it's more than just a myth in the remake.

Sorry Aerith, I just couldn't fit spending a Phoenix Down on you into the budget. I'll always remember you though, unless I go crazy or something. But what are the odds of that? ---Cloud

They won't do it, too many sequels with her still dead would open up a plot hole. Hopefully they'll figure out an in-game method like with the debug room or the SaGa Frontier movement glitch, though. Her higher level limit breaks are OP as fuck and let you totally rape most of the late-game bosses :D

More like they'd never do it because from a story standpoint in the original, her dying is crucial for things to proceed.
Also because the main character losing somebody dear to him was a reflection of the director losing somebody they held dear to them during the games production. It's got meaning both in AND out of the game.
There's no way it's changing.

It would make her death meaningless just to bring her back. And in Advent Children, she's already been confirmed still alive. Sorry champ.

With the first part of the remake in the bag, her odds of survival have jumped up quite a bit. The end of the game makes it clear it's not going to be attached at the hip to the first game's storyline.

I still think she's going to be killed again, but further on in the storyline than the first time (as was originally planned before they moved her death to where it was).
