Seems you don't understand the context behind Moltres being there at all. Whenever a Moltres get's injured, it flies to the nearest volcano in order to rest and heal itself. It being there is only pure coincidence.

This isn't Fairy Tail, there is no power of friendship.

The only legendary that Pikachu has actually beaten on it's own merits was Regice. He also beat Latios, but was also knocked out so it was a tie which doesn't effectively count.
