Unfortunately parents like this who feel the need to raise their children to "save the world" have a sort of tunnel vision and don't realize that they can really screw a child up with they don't have at least a little warmth as they are brought up.

Yeah well being told your blood isn't pure and your wife ending up being impregnated by your father (because somehow that child's blood will be any more pure?) can lead to some questionable parenting, especially when your 'daughter' is your half-sister.
