Also some depictions of ninja feature a helmet with three protrusions, one going straight up and the other two going diagonally upwards to each side of it.

It reminds me of that as well.

God, this is an aesthetic nightmare. There is no logic to this design. Random lightning motifs on the face that aren't repeated anywhere else? Uncoordinated splashes on red that are all concentrated in one area? Those ugly round wings that contradict the spiked lines on the head/helmet?

This is literally as bad as a 10-year-old's fan art. Disgusting.

The black parts on the side of its head are meant to look like Ash's hair.

The red and white on top of its head is meant to look like Ash's head.

The crest on its chest looks like the pattern on Ash's jacket.

And they aren't "wings", that's a water shuriken on its back, because ya know, it's a ninja.
