So as someone who has seen the two new Asagi episodes I can give my opinion on the quality compared to the first series.
In terms of "animation" the first series was better (note I only said animation) The fast pace pounding of Murakami's version definitely gives a better emphasis that they were getting absolutely fucked.
However in terms of camera, art and music this series is far better than Murakami's version.
For one the camera, you can actually SEE whats going on unlike how in the Murakami version you can only really see when its zoomed away. Camera stops and focuses on shots so you can see the action. Big ups for me personally you can see Asagi anus clearly which was a complaint I had about the first series.
Art, Asagi, Sakura, Oboro and now Saya have never looked better. They actually look well drawn, better than the first series. The first series I had to kind of imagine they were the characters they were supposed to be. This version I can honestly say "no yup, that's Asagi Igawa from the games alright." And this version doesn't have that inconsistent problem the first one did in which character (namely Asagi) would be wearing one thing then in the next shot be wearing something completely different. Also for fellow Asagi fans (like myself) rejoice that this series focuses more on Asagi than Sakura. another complaint I had about the first series.
Music is great, and a lot of it comes straight from the games but enhanced.
Overall: Its a good watch, first episode is a bit slow and tackles some specific fetishes. Never been big on the nipple fucking thing, but this one made me really get into it. The more methodical, slow pace sex can be jarring for ppl who liked the first series fast pace-ness. 2nd episode is miles better than most of the first series. I didn't even make it to the end and I was really trying.
In terms of ranking I still think the first episode of Murakami's version is my favortie Taimanin Asagi OVA. With the 2nd episode of this version inches below, then the 2nd episode of Murakami version in third pace. Followed by the 1st episode of this version being my fourth favorite. Then 3 and 4 of Murakami's version being last, those last two episodes of the first series were really disappointing.
