Sadly though, end of the day it's the fans' fault. If they weren't making money from it, they wouldn't do it. Thinking from a business mentality: Why make a great game that might make you money, when you can make a pachinko game that will definitely make you money?

The other thing to consider is that Japan is in a recession of their own.
Some companies are afraid to take risks, so they go for what they know will make money. That means more mobile and more pachinko and slot machines. Stuff that's cheap and has low risk of losing them money.
