Amerifags misuse the term 'yaoi' these days. I don't know how it started. 'Yaoi' doesn't simply mean 'gay', it's a very specific style of fujoshi pandering shit that involves bishies, usually of lean muscular adult build, shit like Cloud x Sephiroth. 男の娘 otoko no ko or trap stuff is fundamentally not yaoi.

But on Gelbooru, it is specifically defined as "Any art depicting romantic or sexual interaction between two or more men with each other." So it doesn't matter what the traditional meaning is, as long as it fits Gelbooru's definition it gets the tag.
