It appears to be a slightly deformed Megadrive, which is the same thing.

But yeah, it's a Genesis.

That's a Power Bases Converter sticking out of the Genesis (Mega Drive). It's an add-on that lets you play Sega Master System (Sega Mark III) games on the Genesis.
