You know what Captain Phasma was in TFA? A shift manager. She made work rosters for the troopers (though granted, most shift workers don't get to exterminate villages with rebel sympathies), she did performance evaluations, made sure her troopers stuck to company protocol and had access to company facilities. It's kinda a letdown from the badass bounty hunter/soldier we believed we were going to get.

Seriously, all she needed was one scene laying waste to the parked X-Wing, or shoving one of her troopers out of the way of a blaster shot so it bounces off her fancy armor instead of killing him. Do SOMETHING, dangit.
