Isn't it known as the "Blade of Evil's Bane"? I'm pretty sure "evil", in the sense a scared mystical sword would judge it, is something that's more about the person itself, and not whatever they have in their blood.
I bet if, for example, there's some demon guy who's all like "fuck it, I hate how the rest of my kind treats human beings, and its unfair how everyone automatically thinks I'm evil too because I look like them. I actually don't want to hurt anyone. I'll dedicate my life to protect the weak, and who knows, hopefully that way people will see me for who I am, not what I am."
Maybe a little cliche'd sure, but do you seriously think a holy sacred blade of heroes would turn down someone like that just because of who his/her parents were? :/

@Anon4: Link can still hold the Master Sword even after Zant cursed him because it cleaved the darkness out of his body, which manifested in the crystal that was jammed into his forehead. Judging by the way Link was growling and roaring just from being close, I wouldn't think it was a painless experience. In the same vein, having cells of an evil entity from space probably isn't good for Cloud to be holding a weapon that evil isn't supposed to touch.
@Anon5: The thing is, JENOVA is objectively evil. It was described as a calamity from the heavens bent on destroying the planet. Of course anything associated with it would be evil. And that example of someone's parents is irrelevant. Even if Link's parents were the biggest bastards in the world, Link as a pure hearted hero, can still hold it. He is clean of any evil influences. But Cloud? He has evil literally coursing through his blood.

Your argument is basically that sicne Jenova is described as an evil entity, then its hair is evil, its skin is evil, its teeth are evil, its toes are evil, etc. I mean what the hell. What the hell is "evil" in this regard? I think we need to ask ourselves that before we start claiming individual genetic material and/or non-sentient bodyparts can act mean to other people lol.
The example of someone's parents is completely relevant, and your own post proved it. You said it didn't matter whose Links parents were and then argued Cloud has evil literally cousing through his veins. Not only is the idea of "being a bad person" coursing through your veins ridiculous, but also, that's exactly what the parents example is there for. You have your parents blood coursing through your veins. If you insist "evil" can be passed through blood/genes (which is silly), then you're purposedly handpicking this to apply to Cloud, but not Link in case his parents were evil bastards.
Like I said. You can have the blood of demons in your veins. If you decide you want to be a good guy however, then that's what you are. A good guy. The nicest, most charitable person in the world won't be labeled as "evil" because the government once decided to inject him with evil alien cells. If his personality had changed due to that, then fine, but if it didn't then its irrelevant.
Cloud is not an evil person. There's nothing more to it.
