I vote for the SR-71. With a top speed close to Mach 4 and missile jamming technology and a flight ceiling of 80,000+ feet, I doubt you could outfly it in its territory. Not to mention she could get out of your range, set up a trap and blast you into the stone age as you are still reeling from the triple sonic boom.

@577148 - ANY supersonic aircraft would outrun the bullets it shot, not just Mach 3+ ones. A Grumman F11F Tiger shot ITSELF down that way going over Mach 1.

correction on the SR-71 speed. it's over mach 3. and there was an F-4 pilot that had a supersonic gun kill over vietnam or korea. at least according to the history channel.

@Sanya_V_Litvyak - Officially Mach 3+, tho' from some connections I had some years back it was said that it would actually top out at over Mach 4. I buy it since there is still a shitload we don't know about that plane and Mach 3 seemed to be just a publicly declared benchmark that no one could beat at the time (the MiG-25's 3.2 dash wasn't really much of a threat); it's true capablities were far beyond that.
