MMD is not a game. It's an animation software.

No It's a game. Just like TK17 is a game, and Little Big Planet is a game.

Sure you can create intricate levels and challenges in Little Big Planet, but it's not Game Creation Software. It's a game all on it's own.

MMD is all inverse kinematic animation. It takes animation and super simplifies it so people can create their own dance videos.

This just in. According to the above anon apparently 3DSMax is also a game according to his explanation.

Going by that logic 3D Custom Girl is also not a game but a 3D model pivot poser? I dont really care who calls what what but a "3D animation program oryginally created to make dance animations makes better porn than porn games" is a fair point

tk17, little big planet, 3d custom girl, are games. mmd is NOT. nothing is done for you in mmd, models, animation, sound you have to set up. there's no inbuilt assets. much like other purpose built 3d software like poser or daz3d though mmd has LESS than either in regards to overall capability and assets. rofl...a game.

I would also point out that the vast majority of animation in MMD is NOT inverse kinematic. The only thing IK gets used for for 98% of models is moving the legs, and even then it's super hard to make a convincing walking animation. Body, arm, head and neck bones are all posed independently. It requires a ton of effort and you can tell when someone tries to take shortcuts with it.
