If i'm not mistaken, that one comes from one of the Matrix short animated, that came in between the first 2 movies to build more on the universe.

Yes, it is called Animatrix. It's a series of short artistic animations that tell of the world before the events of the main movies

Hey, they even too Animatrix shorts into account for the countinuity matter when writing the second and third movie scenari. Isn't that interesting ? :)
