no its an echhi there are moments of fan service its just a lot more toned down with fairy tail then it is in other anime ( high school dxd which its almost just a hentai) again in anime standards fairy tail is toned down with its fan service so while its going to happen it still has a story and lots of action also anonymous #195087 people like you are the reason why the internet is the way it is just cause you don't like fairy tail or anime doesn't mean you need to go off on a random forum or something and talk about how much you hate the show and such my motto if you don't like then there is no need to try to make others hate it or make treat your opinion as a fact that everyone must follow

Well the anon's not wrong, it is rather saddening that Mashima resorts to ecchi to sale his series. Look. Fairy Tail is a shounen anime. If you can't see that then you're a desperate fanboy who's nearly as saddening as what Mashima Hiro is doing to it. I watched Rave Master long before Fairy Tail was a thing. And Rave Master has FAR less ecchi than Fairy Tail. But that isn't what makes it sad, what makes it sad is that I thought Fairy Tail was the bomb 8 years ago. Back then Fairy Tail had WAY less ecchi. If you can't tell it has increased then you're in some serious denial and need a shrink bad. I love the show but then I post interest and was disgusted at how far it's fallen. I wanted Natsu to climb to the same Recognition as Luffy, or Goku. Just this clip alone shows how far the series has fallen. I honestly laughed at how ridiculous Fairy Tail Final Season was. And I read it before it aired. Fairy Tail doesn't have that spark to me anymore, it's just a bunch of whine whine, ecchi ecchi, fights are retarded and mostly one-shots, Mashima keeps throwing himself in a corner. And the sad thing is he doesn't bother creating substantial arcs. Nobody REALLY suffers in the anime, not really. Only time it seemed genuine was Lisanna's death, being a good arc for Natsu, just throwing it to the wind with Edolas arc and completely disregarding Natsu entirely.
Erza's arc was pretty good, so was Lucy's but hell, nobody learned a damn thing! They went right back to the same shit they always do. Atleast in other anime characters reflect on their actions, I rarely see that in Fairy Tail. Which makes me think Mashima doesn't bother putting actual effort into a substantial plot. When he puts a character in a position to die in a positive life saving way, he doesn't. Hell he killed off Gajeel, and immediately brought him back like RIGHT after that chapter/episode. His story doesn't progress at all, it's just "Bad people hurt Fairy Tail, we hurt bad people, we celebrate and learn nothing. Wash, rinse, repeat!" Seriously their personalities have only slightly changed since yhe start of the series. They don't go through anything that requires them to actually reflect, bond, and grow as a person. Not in strength. Mashima has been subverting NEEDED development so much for so many years it's easily predictable now. And that is why I don't like a series I use to keep in my top FIVE anime.
