Well, if Ironwood could be half cyborg, just an arm should be simple.

It's probably not that simple. My guess is that prosthetic limbs are very rare and extremely expensive. Not just anyone can get one. It's probably mostly, or only Atlas who have that kind of technology, especially since we know that they made robot soldiers, Paladins, and Penny.

We should assume that Yang will at some point get a robotic arm, but it may not happen in volume 4. My guess is that Weiss, who's currently at Atlas, will use her money and family connections to supply Yang with a new arm.

@CaptainD

Hope so. It just tears me up like a knife in the gut to see her the way she is now.

Considering Atlas can mass-produce fully functioning combat robots and nobody really seems to be impressed by the existence of such extremely advanced machines (compared to IRL technology), I'd be very surprised if prosthetics really were all that rare and expensive.

I mean, they could be, but IMO that wouldn't make much sense.

Mercury has robot legs, I don't think robotic prosthetics are all that rare and expensive either. She's not moping for her missing arm, she's angsting because her brashness led her to help Cinder's plans and because she couldn't help Blake at all against Adam. I wouldn't be surprised if she even start blaming herself for Penny and Pyrrha because of it. Yang getting a cyborg arm may or may not be a big thing in season 4, but it won't be because of the arm itself, but for the character growth that'll come with it.

Or maybe I'm super wrong, we'll see.

Actually Mercury is the one who stated that his legs did not come cheap. But I agree that her new arm won't be a major focus for the nest volume.

I doubt that even Atlas would be mass producing mechanized prosthetics. And Weiss would probably be having trouble commissioning one for Yang. It's a very precise technology that connects directly to a persons nerves, so you'd have a lot of trouble building one that works for a person without having access to the person herself. She can't get that information from a distance now because global communication is offline. Not to mention the fact that part of Yang's arm turned to dust, likely burned, which probably damaged the nerves so they would have to remove even more of her arm before they could attach a functioning prosthetic. And there's tension between Atlas and Vale right now, so it may prove difficult for Yang to go to Atlas to be fitted for a new arm. This all means bad news for any crippled civilians from the battle as well.

I'm not saying her robot arm won't happen, it will, there's just a lot of complications.

My personal opinion is that Weiss will Run away from Atlas with the necessary tech and build one for Yang personally.

Who knows (other than the creators), Ironwood might arrange a prosthetic as a favor for an old friend. Or do it out of guilt after realizing he should have trusted Yang during the tournament setup.
