Could work, it only depends on how it is played.

But i was first introduced to the pairing through this pic and only then saw iy through the teaser of next week's episode, so i was more shocked at a possible fanfic-only pairing than anything. xD

I just noticed something with the last episode. Future Trunks is depicted, in DB Super, with blue hair, just like his mother both future and present, while Presenc (Child) Trunks is depicted with his usual purple hair. That would mean we are now seeing Present Mai and Present Trunks, a few years later. Not Future Mai and Future Trunks...
