Ya know that even for an anime character aging would be normal if it is a normal human with no powers whatsoever in the show right, hell even Misty and Brock have aged a bit compared to the eternal 10 yrs old Ash....you can look up various anime where the characters age so the excuse of "because is an anime character" doesn't work.

Cartoon/anime characters don't age because the audience doesn't grow up. They simply move on and a new generation of fans take up the banner.

there are different ways of growing/aging it could be physical or metal and Ash just doesn't have any of those, many want that at least Ash could win with his Pikachu vs a first time trainer and not the opposite, when Sinnoh was announced Ash fought against an Electivire and lost vs Gary and that make sense but vs an Snivy.... there are shows where the MC age just like bleach and naruto, in the pokémon manga everyone had aged at least 1 year but Ash is just plain stupid....we have younger Oak thanks to Celebi so the producer could at least make an special or OVA or Movie where Celebi or Dialga bring from the future Adult Ash to help save the day, they could do anything to put a adult Ash on the series take as example the mirror world they have done that so the Adult version could have appeared too even if is brief...so Sir the aging excuse of "because is an anime character" doesn't REALLY WORK, have a good day....
