They're ghosts that take the form of sandcastles using the shovel in their heads to lure in prey. The supposedly become pure ghost and reveal their true form when hit with a water attack.

Gen 7 certainly has a lot of unique abilities. Not to mention all this playing around with typings.

Yes, it's a Pikachu. Look at the shape of the ears. Also, Pichu have pink cheeks, not red.
