There was a Zelda game where you actually played as Zelda, called Zelda, Wand of Gamelon on the CDi. It, along with two other Zelda games where you play as Link, really REALLY sucked.

I would say it should take place between the events of ocarina of time and majora's mask, playing as zelda, malon, saria, or ruto. to rescue the real of hyrule from a new threat not ganon...heh and each girl should get a signature spell or move, I.E. maln can summon the chicken swarm
