No. If that were the case, we wold've had Misty until DP since May and Dawn's facial designs are exactly the same. Let's just stop deluding ourselves into thinking Serena will stay, please...

anon2, i am sad, i have been sad at the end of Johto, the end of Hoenn too as a kid, and i'm Sad at that Serena will go at the end of XY.
But that's how it is, Ash travel to a new region=> he make new compagnions. a girl he's age, a guy usually older, and ocasionaly a little kid to tag along. that's a formula.

I know I'm in the minority but I'd have been happy if Ash was straight up replaced. Mallow and the girl can stay but I'd love to see the game protagonist headline the anime. It's time for new stories.

Ash would be fine if the writers moved on with him. If we're talking about new stories and all, I don't know why nintendo insists in origins/generations if pokemon special is right there for 20 years.
