Her name is Velvet, not Violet. And keep in mind she has to tuck in all her hair in addition to her ears. I'm not sure it's physically possible for her to put her helmet on.

Probably why she has that earpiece. She likely has the other one out because she's using her right ear to listen for movement at the moment. She just keeps her ears flat in the helmet. Bunny ears don't take up much space.
