IMHO Eva wasn't as godly as everyone makes it out to be, sure, it was decent, different, and well animated, but it's not as amazing as everyone makes it out to be.

Eva was great in context. There was nothing quite like it before it came out, and it's still the gold standard for both lame/WTF single-season anime finales and unflinching artistic integrity.

I personally couldn't get into the anime. What is great for some people is not for others so u should not vote down someones opinion just because they didn't like Eva. Thats just being stupid, people have different opinions guys.

I'm gonna have to argue that point...ever seen Revolutionary Girl Utena? Either the anime or OVA, I mean. I mostly ask because the anime's about as mind-screwy, and the OVA will just twist your brain into a bow tie and wear it to a formal dinner.

to be fair, i did love evangelion but i also watched FLCL, and loved it and it leading to TTGL. And i think that Eva and GL are both gods in universal dimensions so far apart that they should never contact eachother. its like an unstoppable force (yes that's TTGL) meeting an immovable object (that'd be Eva-01) though rebuild's movies are quite impressive. made go "F**K YEAH!"

Oh and Ezalias, right though yu are, 've yu seen end of evangelion? or just the retarded "congrats" ep? makes the 2 "congrats" eps into the "never happened" eps
