Too sad. Reminds me those pictures of Popplio hurt by all the stupid hate (while now many drool over Brionne and the final evolution). Even if he manages to get an Umbreon sometime in the future, he is and will always be a shitty trainer.

To be fair, it's really fucking dumb. It's like

Gen 2: Here's two new Eeveelutions, you achieve them by making Eevee happy with the currently available mechanics!

Gen 6: Here's an immersive mechanic for bonding with your Pokemon. But it doesn't count toward the Gen 2 Eeveelutions. If you want one of those, then you can't pet your Eevee until it evolves!
