This is a Mitsubishi F-2A, not F-16. It's the Japanese domestic version of the F-16 with modifications for the JASDF, like different canopy, larger wing area and surface controls.

Saw a prototype as a demo for sales at The Paris Air Show in 1975...what a performance it put on...wowowowowowow !!

Officially the F-2 is really a block upgrade of the F-16 GD/LM never managed to get built (probably because it would inch toward F-15 territory).
The F-2 was more likely an exercise in updating Japan's aircraft manufacturing than anything, since the design was 20 years old when the F-2 first flew (1995).
