Well in the German Version of Sun and Moon Suiren is called Tracy, don't ask me why, I don't know as well and I find it Stupid as well...

The same thing with Pokemon names (well not always since some names are based on certain things example Charizard (Charcoal?) in German Glurak (Glu as in Glüh (the glowing from Charcoal) I believe, but then again it still doesn't make sense, since some Names don't change at all in the German version and some don't make any Sense at all - Tapu Koko (Eng) -> Kapu Riki (Ger)

Localization is all good and well, but when it comes to names... That's just retarded, sorry but it just is! (And the Germans wonder why they're so bad at English, just sub it for god's sake!)

Oh yea. I remember now. I think the reason why they changed her name was because there was already a character named Lana in the German games, so they had to use a new name for her instead.

Did a little research (*cough* just looking at the German PokeWiki) and I didn't find anyone with the name Lana or Suiren (at least not one that is Relevant to the Story, if they gave that name to a irrelevant NPC, then God forbid that the German Localization Team of Nintendo will have ever work again! This level of Stupidity must not go unpunished!)

Did an extra Follow up on the Pokemon Series & Games, the only one with the name Lana aside from Lana/Suiren from Sun and Moon is the Pokemon Box System Admin from Diamond/Pearl & Platin...

Seems Nintendo wants to link the Names with certain meanings...
Tracy (GER VER) -> Tracheophyta -> linked to Water Lilies
Lana (ENG VER) -> Hawaian for " Silent Water
Suiren (JAP VER) -> Water Lilies (in Japanese?)

Mizuki (JAP VER) -> Hartwood/Dogwood?... (Wh-Whuuuuuut?)
Bebe (ENG VER) -> BBCode
Lana (GER VER) -> LAN (cabble)
