I have no probs adding Litten to Ash's team. He was going to catch a Fire type sooner or later, and Salazzle is too...dicey, while Turtonator does not really fit his motif.

Yeah Salazzle doesn't fit Ash at all, and Tortonator is already with Kiawa and most like A-Marowak as well. Litten just fits Ash the most as his region Fire Pokemon.

When you've caught ~3,000 Pokemon like a lot players, releasing 5 is not a big deal.

When you've only caught about 12* like Ash has, releasing even 1 is a huge deal.
