She served well, so she gets fed well. It pays to treat your slaves well. Mistreated slaves are sullen and don't work well.

A smart owner treats their slaves well, but asserts the fact that the slaves are still chattel and lack human rights. Slaves should be kept naked to remind themselves that they do not have privacy rights, like humans. And they get fed whatever their owner wants to feed them.
