^ His Quirk, mostly. Repeatedly being told that his Quirk is amazing and that he's the best throughout his childhood led to him developing a serious superiority complex. He hates being looked down on and being underestimated, and is thoroughly convinced that he's the strongest. On top of that, he just has a ridiculous amount of pride in every aspect of his being.
Deku even said himself that Katsuki changed after his Quirk manifested.
