I mean, it's clearly not the first time a "artist" start drawing a normal-manga
Nanashi, Yanagida, and Tosh are great examples of that
but they already had great-sucess before starting their manga

honestly, its not that uncommon in Japan for an artist to start out drawibg hentai before going on to do mainstream work.
