Well you know what they say. Just want to violate them, no matter who they are.

Lots of edgelords were born thanks to this series, so we should be thankful we have something to laugh at.

>black lagoon
>edgy
Hardly. I've seen more raunchy things on television. An actual edgy anime would be something like Elfen Lied.

Even if Black Lagoon wasn't edgy, that won't stop it from generating edgelords. I don't see it being anything else

>Elfen Lied
>Edgy
Now I know you're fucked up.

that makes absolutely no sense, Naruto probably made more angst with any member of the Uchiha clan, and it was far more known than this ever was or will be, so no, it didn't.

Black Lagoon is dark and mature with themes appropriate for that tone, often times showcasing brooding yet badass characters with a hint of sick humour. It's entire shtick is being cynical and showcasing a side of the world that other products don't. It's offensive, crass and crude, but it's not like it tries it's damnedest to be like that. If it is edgy, it's a good edge, like the Literature Devil.
Edge isn't bad, being edgy isn't bad, and I'd argue being an edgelord isn't that bad (to an extent), but like all things, excess ruins greatness.

Whatever the case, just because it isn't as popular as normie friendly shows like Naruto won't stop it from creating edgelords. I knew people who became edgier from watching it while others didn't. Just because it isn't front and centre doesn't mean it isn't edgy and people still pick up on it regardless. Metal Gear Rising isn't particularly edgy, but it's edgy moments initiated a wave of edgelords when it came out. So there.
