If you you look in Lana's house in konikoni city, theirs a picture that reads that Lana reeled in a large Wailord when she was young, also the artbook says that she is super strong.

Well technically Wailord are lighter than air if you compare their size to their weight so while this "looks" strange it is actually quite possible with this particular pokemon.

@anon2 and 4 True, the Wailord is very light compared to its size - but it's still almost 400 kg (877 lbs). Lana's feat here is still notable, to say the least.
