It's going to end similar to Spartacus where the good guys die and the bad guys winning.
How will Almeria react to Macky's death? Will she kill herself, kill her brother for killing her lover. I like Heero spared Zechs because he had feelings for Releena which Gaileo could have disabled Macgilles's Bael and this not killing his friend/ upsetting his sister.
More of the rant will be coming.

Anon 3 a joke? really? tell me something, have there ever been a downer ending in gundam's long running anime history? The closest to that is indeed Zeta and Victory however, what stops both from complete fulfilling a downer ending is that both series protagonists achieved their goals in beating the bad guys from winning. However, they also suffered great losses in getting to their goal, turning it into quite a bittersweet ending.

This is the first time in a Gundam Series (That I know of) where the good guys lose in the final battle and the enemy is going to emerge victorious. It's basically the Battle of Thermopylae where King Barbatos takes his last stand against uneven odds in a battle with certain doom guaranteed in the end.
Although it's really sad for those who have died because they never get to see how their story ended.
"There are so many stories where some brave hero decides to give their life to save the day, and because of their sacrifice the good guys win, the survivors all cheer, and everybody lives happily ever after. But the hero never gets to see that ending. They'll never know if their sacrifice actually made a difference. They'll never know if the day was really saved. In the end they just have to have faith.
Ain't that a bitch?"

Anon2113758: Nice use of Church's ending quote there. It really sums up what happened at the end of Tekkadan.
In regards to the ending of this series, I knew it was going to be a bittersweet ending. With the exception of one thing, I was fine with the ending because if anything it kind of reflects how it is in the real world where corrupt people end up on top while the ones that wanted to end the corruption end up getting screwed over.
It sucks, but it does happen.
