Gaint_monster tag is not redundant with kaijuu actually. Kaijuu means "Strange Monter", not Gaint Monster. Daikaijuu means "Great/Giant Strange Monster" though. At least, thats what wikipeda says.

Yes but people generally use kaiju as a catch all term for giant monsters like Godzilla and Gamera.

just because people use a broad term does not make the more correct term any less correct, or redundant. Seeing as they're in different languages would also make it irrelevant, even if they did mean the same thing.

Kaijuu (since 1954 at least) almost exclusively refers to giant monsters that topple cities.
