That never really bothered me. It kind of fits with Akira's character. That and no matter who you date, your going to spite someone.
Makoto, you piss off Sae. Haru, that shit of a fiance. Futaba you scare Sojrio. And while the other ladies not on your team don't have lovers, the few that had men that admired them. Tae, Ichkio, and i think Chihaya had men who were messing with their lives who admited that they felt jealous of them.
Hifumi has idol status so your pissing someone off. And Sayado is just a middle finger to society as a whole. This persona hero is a bit of an asshole.

It's only Sojiro and Morgana that say anything on Valentine day, and its mostly the same with Ann, Sayado, and Futaba having different reactions.
Morgana looks all kinds of said if you date Ann. Sojiro looks god smacked when you date Sayado, and for Futaba, he looks like you just hit in the face with rubber chicken. Then he threatens you.
While Persona is no Mass effect, I do wish your romances showed through the main plot a little more. P5 dose that in a small amount though.
During your last study session, the topic of marriage comes up, and depending on how you answer, and if your dating a teammate, they will react differently.
Still, weather it was in the game or not, I don't think it's out of the realm of impossibility. Akira is depicted as a cocky anti-hero. Stealing someone else woman is something a gentlemen thief would do.
But eh, that's just me. ; P
