No. Men look gross in a lot of Hentai because many of the consumers who buy hentai are mostly men who feel insecure seeing an attractive man fucking the girls. It makes it harder for them to insert themselves in the shoes of that character. It's also the same reason many men in hentai/doujin have their eyes blurred/hidden. Self-immersion for the person fapping to it.

If that's honestly the reason, it makes me really wonder just how much of the consumer base in Japan are, to avoid insulting anyone, "able to self-insert themselves into the shoes of the fat man character trope", shall we say. Given how prevalent that trope is, generally speaking.

There is the conundrum of how The eye is naturally drawn to detail, but human beauty has simplicity, a few good placed, smooth lines is all you need to make a beautiful face in anime, with most of the detail in the eyes and hair.
To make an ugly character requires far more detail, irregular shapes, excessive stringy hair, bulging fat that takes up more of the screen and includes more lines and shading. All of this adds more detail that the eye instinctively goes towards before being repulsed back away.
As a result, it's better for the male character to be as featureless and nondescript as possible rather than flat out ugly. That being said,
Genital detail is also a good idea to really imagine the sensation, (and I'm not talking about X-Ray shots, fucking hate that shit, might as well ask me to watch guro) and a few hentai artists really go above and beyond when it comes to that sort of thing (Satoshi Urushihara, Yasuomi Umetsu, and Yoshiten and are probably the best at that.)
Far too many cut corners (like have the penis look like it's going into the guy rather than the girl as he thrusts) because they figure it's going to be all pixelated anyhow so there's no point in putting much detail in.
