So it's going to be a momentary return home to Kanto in a two-episode special? Nice, but I can't deny I'd have rather liked for Brock and Misty to visit Alola and interact with the newer characters.

Yeah. To be honest, I was kind of hoping the Pokemon anime would follow Yu-gi-yo and/or Digimon you know; Change up the characters and finish arcs with every new game, grow up a little with the fans kind of like Zelda did with Breath of the wild.

But it just turned into a kid show, and promote the game. I really loved the YouTube generations series. The Pokemon world is so big and strange, focusing on one kid just seems like a waste. I kind of get it why though. It would be VERY hard to adapt the games. Because you will get fan backlash no matter what.

An example would be the story of XY.

If they followed that story to a T then, and I am going to burnt on a stake saying this but, Serena will NOT be Calem's love interest. That would-be Sana or Shauna since she is the love interest in the game. Although I have a feeling they wouldn't follow every story to the letter but, my point stands. People would riot.

But I am not going to harp on that or bash anyone that loves it. If you like the anime, you like it. Heck I am going to buy Ultra moon, so their doing something right.

I am more curious about the whole shipping thing.

I mean, you know Ash is going to just forget half these people and just go on his next adventure when a new region comes out? He's not going to end the series marrying ANY of them.

If he does, I will eat my Switch with a side of bacon!

I honestly wouldn't be shocked if he ended marrying a Lucario or something.

So why? Just fun, or something else?
