Unfortunately, starting from when they killed off George (Saya's dad) early off in the series, they went on a lovable characters murder spree.
They killed off all the Schiff except for Lulu, who I have to admit kinda creeps me out with those eyes of hers. They killed off Riku shortly after he became Saya's Chevalier. Lets face it, they gave Riku's first love Mui a fate worse than death and we never saw her again. Solomon was killed on a crappy technicality. They ALMOST killed off Joel (The young one), David and Julia. And I was pretty scared that they were going to kill off Saya in the final fight with Diva, and they almost killed off Haji too. I would've been sure he was dead if they didn't do that thing with the rose in the end.
In a sense though, I had to feel sorry for Diva's death. As much of a spoiled bitch she was, she might not have turned out the way she did at all if she wasn't treated like crap by the old Joel. And all that rubbish would never have started. In the end, all she wanted was a family. At least she died having one.

Saya and Diva are twins too. They both came from the same mummified mother and they looked almost exactly alike in the beginning (Except for the eyes). The only reason Saya looks different now is because she has short hair. I'm sure you've realized that by now anyway, but I thought I'd say just in case.
