Everybody seems to forget that Monty told Jen Brown about Pyrrha's death before they started the show. Before he died, He, Miles, Kerry and Gray worked out the plot of the entire show through all seasons to the end. So IF and I do mean IF Weiss dies, then Monty planned it.

Honestly I believe she’ll survive, not because she’s a main character, but because of where she actually got hit in the episode. It could have only hit either her liver, one of the kidneys or neither. But seriously though, Weiss is more than likely out cold for the rest of the Volume.
