This show will always be a treasure to my wife and I. It was just great. Simple, relatable, and most importantly, fun to watch even on those days where ills are due and work was hell. Watched it right around the holidays and don't regret a single moment of it.
If you aren't really into much more than say, shonen, like I was for a good while in my early days, seriously, try this anyway. I've watched stuff like 8 Man and Armitage III; Dragon Ball and One Punch; One Piece and Gundam; read(ing) Berserk and HxH; Ghost in the Shell and Ninja Scroll; Bebop and Champloo; Cory in the House.
I recommend this show for most anyone who just wants to sit back and laugh a little. The dub is fantastic, in my opinion, and while it doesn't have the most amazing musical score, it certainly doesn't drag on when you notice it. I could go on, but the point is, it's well-made and gives you a campy yet touching ride all throughout. Don't think too hard on it, but don't shy away from poking at some of the layers i presents, because they're there, too.
Anyway, rant done. Just grateful that anime still manages to produce gems like this that, while perhaps not shining examples of all anime can be, sure do give it a good name. More please. I'm out.
