Right! Like in a show call one piece, where a reindeer with powers is treated like a monster, and yet he is the cutest in show.
What makes it worst is that as the show progressed, you would see humans looking a thousand times more weirder and monstrous than the reindeer, and they're suppose to be regular humans with no powers; they are just born weirdly different.

@Anon1 I agree. Zero-Two had the worst of childhoods. She was pretty much treated like a prisoner as a child.

@anon1, one possibility is that it's a failure of the creators: they lack the courage of making some character really ugly.
Another, however, is that it is very intentional, to show how ignorant, closed-minded, bigoted and ultimately afraid of whatever goes even a little against their limited view of the world, the people who treat them like monsters are.
It's an attitude that's unfortunately real: I've seen adults look down with disdain on objectively cute children, only because they were of a different ethnicity than their own.
