Is it just me, or has One Piece gotten really lame in recent years? I miss East Blue & Enies Lobby; you know back when the power scaling and narrative elements made sense and had satisfying buildup/ payoff Q.Q
- Fishman Island was awesome from a world building perspective, but failed massively in nearly every other area.
- Punk Hazard was just a snore fest with a garbage antagonist and lame progression (admittedly Law was pretty badass here though).
- Dressrosa was quite possibly the most tedious, drawn out bullshit I have ever witnessed in any form of literature. And Gear 4th was by far the biggest let down of the whole series. Only redeeming factors of this arc were Doffy & Sugar being sexy as fucking hell.
- Zou was "ok", but short af.
- And Whole Cake Island has been an utter trainwreck. Why is Big Mom such a pushover? Isn't she a yonkou for fucks sake? She should at least be within the realm of strength of characters like Shanks and Kaido. They make her look weaker than Katakuri (who Luffy effectively solo'd... wtf). I honestly quit reading the latest few chapters as I find it hard to care with just how contrived the plot has gotten. Plot armor is one thing, but you've gotta put the effort in to make the readers suspend their disbelief >.<

Big Mom is far from weak. But it's just that every powerful character has a weakness or a flaw of some kind that makes them vulnerable. The only Yonko that have had their weaknesses shown were Whitebeard, Blackbeard, and Big Mom. Kaido and Shanks are still out there with flaws available to be exposed. Plus if Straw Hat tried to stand up to Big Mom alone, he'd easily die against her. He's nowhere near powerful enough to face her.
But the weaknesses shown are
Whitebeard: Age
Blackbeard: Cockiness (I stopped your powers what will you do now?! It's not like you'll cut me open with your bisento!)
Big Mom: Food
I know they'll expose Shanks and Kaido's weaknesses as well over time.

Big Mom is far from weak. But it's just that every powerful character has a weakness or a flaw of some kind that makes them vulnerable. The only Yonko that have had their weaknesses shown were Whitebeard, Blackbeard, and Big Mom. Kaido and Shanks are still out there with flaws available to be exposed. Plus if Straw Hat tried to stand up to Big Mom alone, he'd easily die against her. He's nowhere near powerful enough to face her.

Anon3, how is Big Mom being blocked by Jinbei and Chopper on the Thousand Sunny? How is she getting speed blitzed by Brook? How is Jinbei knocking her over with a single attack? These characters should literally be like little insects compared to her. Even if she was in a weakened state due to her hunger, it just makes no damn sense. She shouldn't suddenly be at less than 10% full power just cuz she's hungry >.< That's just bad writing imo. Also, how the hell is she maintaining Yonko status if she is weakened so much from hunger? You'd think other high tiers within the One Piece world would have dethroned her by now if she possesses such a glaringly large weakness!

^ I never said I think Sugar is the sexiest girl in all of One Piece :o I actually vastly prefer flashback Nico Robin from Enies Lobby (chapters 391~398). Sugar is definitely second place tho, not gonna lie ^///^
