Too early to say for sure, have to wait and see the first arc ending, before any real judging can be made.

But right now (after reading the first chapter):
Pros:
Rebecca's design - even hotter version of Lucy.

Cons: Everything else.

Anon 4 is right. There are 3 characters in Edens Zero that have any similarities to Fairy Tail characters (Elsie/Erza, Happy, Plue) and that is in character design only. Happy has a different personality, we know very little of Elsie's character currently and Plue is Plue. The other characters are clearly distinguishable and any perceived similarities are simply due to Mashima's art style.

Also, can you really rip-off yourself? Especially when you consider the "Tezuka Star System" and the fact that many mangaka, including well-respected ones, have reused their own character designs since the 1950s.

Adding to the argument, Fairy Tail characters have made legitimate cameos throughout the first couple chapters.

Natsu, Lucy, Team Shadowgear (Levy, Droy & Jet)

Also. technically Plue dosn't count because he's in everything Mashima makes...

At least this time scanlators did it right with Elsie.

That always bothered me in Fairy Tail, when she gets called Erza, even if her name is clearly Elza. You know because japanese Kana dont differ between the latin letters R and L respectivelly japanese cant get the L spoken phonetically.
Heck, Elza Walker was even written on her gravestone in one panel.
