It’s sort of intriguing how the Final Fantasy girl with possibly one of the most simplest designs and outfits garners more attention and “fan art” than all the other elaborate and more colorfully designed girls of this series.

I think it just has more to with FFVII generally being the most popular FF ever made, and she happens to generally be the most popular Female from that game. They whole cast has more simplistic designs than most FF games. It also helps that her only competition from that game for Females are Aeries and Yuffie.
